The current President and CEO of PayPal, Dan Schulman was serving American Express as Group President for Enterprise Growth from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, he was President of Prepaid Group at Sprint Nextel from 2009 to 2010. In 2001, he founded Virgin Mobile USA and assumed the role of the Chief Executive Officer to help it turn into one of the leading wireless carriers in the country. Before founding Virgin Mobile, he was the CEO at Priceline.com from 2000 to 2001. Other than that, he also worked at AT&T from 1981 to 1999, becoming President of Consumer Division.

An athlete and a martial artist, Schulman (age 60) was born on January 19, 1958 in Newark, New Jersey to S. Ruth Schulman and late Mel Schulman. His mother worked at Rutgers’ Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) as Associate Dean and his father belonged to chemical engineering background. Schulman, who was brought up in Princeton (New Jersey), led Princeton High School’s tennis and lacrosse teams as the captain.
Dan’s wife name is Jennie Ann Kassanoff. They have two children.
On another note, when Dan was serving Virgin Mobile as the CEO, he tied up with a non-profit organization for homeless youth called StandUp For Kids. To understand what experiences the homeless kids go through, he lived 24 hours on the streets of NYC without cash, mobile phone or watch. He kept beard and covered himself with a blanket so that nobody recognized him. He could just arrange for a little less than 1 USD after begging for nearly 5 hours. That experience changed the meaning of “important” in his life.
