Khosrowshahi (age 49) was born to an Iranian family with two siblings. His family ran a diversified business under the company called Alborz Investment Company. From chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food, trading, to packaging and distribution, the company provided a host of services. In 1978, his family had to leave Iran because of the looming Iranian Revolution. They first went to southern France and then reached Tarrytown in New York where they settled down with their uncle.
