One of the Founders of Yes Bank, Rana served Rabo India Finance (RIF) Pvt. Ltd in the role of CEO, MD and Managing Partner. He led the foreign joint venture in association with Rabobank in India from 1998 to 2003. In the beginning of 2003, he, however, sold his stake to Rabobank, Netherlands. Prior to that, he worked with ANZ Grindlays’ Investment Bank as GM and Country Head from 1996 to 1998. From 1980 to 1995, he was at Bank of America, where he performed senior roles for various divisions, of them last being the Wholesale Banking businesses. His journey with BOA started as a Management Trainee.
He attended Frank Anthony Public School in 1973. He completed his graduation from Shri Ram College of Commerce in 1977. He went to Rutgers University in New Jersey to obtain an MBA degree in 1980.
