Read is a company lifer, whose journey started back in 1978 with Pfizer. Currently, the Chairman and CEO of Pfizer, he served the company as SVP and Group President heading its Worldwide Biopharmaceutical Businesses from 2006 to 2010. He took charge of the operations in Africa, Middle East and Latin America. In 2002, he spearheaded Canada and Europe businesses. In 2000, he looked after Europe’s operations as EVP and then in 2001 he became Corporate Vice President. He was given the responsibility of International Pharmaceuticals Group for Canada and Latin America in 1996. In 1995, he held different senior positions leading Pfizer Mexico as CFO and Pfizer Brazil as Country Manager. In 1978, he joined the company as Operational Auditor.
