Before she became the Chairman and CEO at the company, Nooyi worked through various ranks. From 2001 to 2006, she was company’s President and CFO. From 2000 to 2001, she served as Senior VP and CFO at the company. Prior to that, from 1996 to 2000, she worked as Sr. VP of Corporate Strategy and Development. In 1994, she was into Strategic Planning as Sr. VP for two years.
Before she joined PepsiCo, she was at a private limited company Asea Brown Boveri from 1990 to 1994. Prior to that, she was selected at Motorola for the role of VP and Director of Corporate Strategy & Planning. Her stint lasted there from 1986 to 1990. From 1980 to 1986, she was at The Boston Consulting Group as International Corporate Strategist. Other than that, she worked at Johnson & Johnson (1977 to 1978) and Mettur Beardsell Ltd. (1976 to 1977) as Product Manager.
Indra attended Madras Christian College to get her bachelor’s degree in Science. She went to IIM Calcutta for an MBA and Yale School of Management for Master in Public and Private Management.
